En Abstract:
"When the stomach is disharmonious, one cannot sleep peacefully" originates from 《Su Wen?NiDiaoLun》, and represents the core classical theory in traditional Chinese medicine regarding the treatment of insomnia through the spleen and stomach. It provides an important perspective for clinical differentiation and treatment of insomnia. Current domestic research mainly focuses on clinical applications and modern mechanistic explanations, while systematic exploration of the classical pathogenesis is still lacking. There is insufficient in-depth analysis of the internal logic between "stomach disharmony," the operation of the Ying and Wei, the ascending and descending movement of Qi, and the interplay of Yin and Yang. This paper, based on the original text of the 《Huangdi Neijing》 and combined with interpretations from physicians of successive generations, takes the spleen and stomach as the pivot of the ascending and descending movement of Ying and Wei Qi. It examines the original meaning of the theory "when the stomach is disharmonious, one cannot sleep peacefully," reconstructing the pathological chain as follows: stomach Qi generates Ying and Wei — when stomach Qi is smooth, Ying and Wei function normally — Yang enters Yin, leading to peaceful sleep — when stomach is disharmonious and descending, Ying and Wei are disrupted — Yang does not enter Yin, resulting in restless sleep. The paper differentiates the effects of various types of stomach disharmony on Ying and Wei and sleep rhythm, and extracts the core treatment principles of "harmonize the stomach, regulate Qi, and facilitate Ying and Wei." The study aims to enrich the understanding of the pathogenesis of insomnia and provide a theoretical reference for clinical syndrome differentiation.
