A total of 60 patients were included according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria (with 30 cases in the western medicine group and 30 cases in the acupuncture-medicine group respectively). Statistical analysis was performde on the BMI, LH/FSH ratio and testosterone levels between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: Inter-group comparison: There was a statistically significant difference in BMI between the two groups before treatment (P=0.004), the BMI of the acupuncture-medicine group was higher than that of the western medicine group; after treatment, the difference in LH/FSH ratio between the two groups was statistically significant (P=0.002), while there were no statistically significant differences in BMI and testosterone levels. Intra-group comparison: There were statistically significant differences in BMI, LH/FSH ratio and testosterone levels in both groups before and after treatment. Conclusion: The combination of Bagua acupuncture and Diane-35 achieves more significant improvements in BMI and hormone levels in patients with obese polycystic ovary syndrome.
