| Organ fibrosis is the terminal characteristic of a variety of chronic diseases and the main cause of organ failure. It has a high mortality and disability rate worldwide, causing serious health and economic burden. However, clinical drugs usually have limited efficacy and obvious side effects. Salidroside as the main active component of salidroside has been found to have a wide range of pharmacological effects. Domestic and foreign studies have shown that salidroside inhibits the fibrosis process by regulating a variety of pathways closely related to fibrosis, including oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial function, apoptosis, autophagy, extracellular matrix (ECM) accumulation and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). To provide new ideas for the clinical treatment of fibrotic diseases by systematically summarizing the treatment of salidroside in recent years. |
